Automotive Photographer

As an automotive photographer my assignments cover a range of genres. I photograph cars for national magazines, for car manufacturers, for race teams and drivers. I shoot marketing images for car sales dealerships, I provide images for auction catalogues… or simply to create a beautiful photo for the owner to frame and hang on their wall.

Motorsport Photography

I have grown up from around 8 years old around Rally Cars one way or another. So Motorsport Photography is my natural environment. As a rallying family, my Grandad, my Dad, me and my younger brother have all driven rally cars. So when I picked up a camera the trackside was an obvious place for me to go. Sometimes I feel I shoot through ‘rally driver’ eyes rather than a photographer’s. I know that look of concentration in his eyes searching out the line through the bend. The technicians desperately trying to rebuild the car when the driver didn’t quite pick the right one! The inevitable ‘Trying Too Hard’ marks where he couldn’t go any faster!!

Editorial Car Photographer

We all enjoy reading about cars or dreaming of what it would be like to own a particular one. So I love it when I get to shoot some of these beautiful and priceless cars for national magazine features. As photographers we love few things more than seeing our images being enjoyed in newspapers and magazines. I will never tire of seeing my images supporting a journalist’s article when I pick up a magazine while out shopping?

Journalistic Style Photography

I like telling stories through my photography, so I am just as happy in the garages and paddock areas as I am trackside. Automotive photography for me is not just about the cars. I want to let the viewer feel they are standing right here next to me. Trying to capture the buzz in the Pit Lane. What it’s like to be in the garage, the busy mechanics & tools. The smell of those weathered leather seats (wouldn’t that be cool…’scratch & sniff’ photos!!)
