Back in December it was good to get out and do a ‘socially distanced’ shoot with Omologato Watches. The brief was to create ‘lifestyle’ marketing images for their Heritage Racing Special watch. Shami had managed to find a car that was perfect for our images. So I thought it would be fun to show a little behind the scenes from a location product shoot from Start to Finish.
Start…
We had a drive around the M25 to the location where our car for today was tucked up cosy in a private collection. When I walked in workshop you couldn’t miss it peaking round a door. In 1979 a limited edition of around 170 World Champion Lotus Esprit were built… No61 was ours for the day!!

The iconic black and gold colours took me straight back to my childhood. My Grandad was writing for a local newspaper, so took me with him one day to Brands Hatch. I’ve never forgotten being absolutely spellbound by the awesome JPS F1 cars in the paddock. As Shami backed the Esprit out of the workshop, I couldn’t help smiling…

Shami has a phrase “right car..right watch” and it was very apt with this Lotus Esprit. Stunning attention to detail in the Heritage Racing Special. I wanted to capture all that feeling in the images. It was important to find the right angles to emphasise special features, such as the sapphire blue glass.

All through the shoot shami was posting behind the scenes photos to the Omologato Watch social media feeds..

Back to the office…
Shoot over it was in the car and head back around the M25 towards home to get cracking with the editing. Download and backup the memory cards, then fire up Adobe Lightroom. I culled through the shoot to select the final images for editing and adjustments. The final collection of images were then fired off to Omologato for the their website & editorial projects.

Finished Job…

Out this week (March 2021) the April edition of Motorsport Magazine shows the finish ad Omologato Watches created from my images on the day. Always great seeing my photos working hard for my clients.
