While many events this year had to be cancelled, The Concours of Elegance 2020 at Hampton Court Palace, thankfully went ahead. Reduced visitor numbers and plenty of space around the cars helped with the social distancing. This year they celebrated 70 years of F1 World Championship with a collection of racing cars from the decades.

David Gandy’s simply stunning Jaguar XK120. Restored by Jaguar Classics with beautiful leather by Bridge of Weir Leather. I think was my personal ‘best of show’ …I’m sure the judges would have agreed if it was entered!!

Another celebration at Concours of Elegance 2020 was the great sports car rivalry between Ford and Ferrari. Born from a contract fallout between Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford. The all conjuring Ferrari 330 P4 had finally met their match with the Ford GT40.

LBH 416, chassis 1007 was one of 10 chassis built for the 1965 season. It was then delivered to Ford France in this striking French national colours livery.

Hampton Court is such a fantastic setting and sets the cars off so well. The gravel paths leading down to Fountain Pond are perfect. The light coming through the tree lined paths changes throughout the day highlights different parts of the cars. Everybody enjoyed coming out for a stroll… even the Palace priest in his lunch break!!

Three days of lovely weather and beautiful cars was over for another year. Time to drop the hood and drive out through the grounds of Hampton Court.

It never ceases to amaze me the variety of stunning cars that are on show at this event each year. See you again in 2021
