Mens Health Survival of the Fittest Wembley 2015
This year, one of my client, Allens Total Perimeter Security has held some great fund raising events for their chosen charities of Macmillan Cancer Support & Cancer Treatment and Research Trust. They recently asked if I would follow a team going round a Tough Mudder event, I jumped at it & here are a small collection of the images from the day. They clearly enjoyed the 12 mile course & getting covered in everything the obstacles could throw at them……that they decided to join forces with a team from the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity & tackle the Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest, 10k urban assault course at Wembley Stadium!!!
Under The Wembley Arch
We had a lovely warm sunny late September day in Winchester for their previous outing…..but not for this one! By ‘eck it was cold at Wembley, I could barely feel my fingers as I waited for my team to arrive. I soon warmed up on a quick walk around some of the course to pick out the obstacles I thought would be fun to shoot. The obstacles were much more compact on this course & so my chances to cut ahead of the team were going to be limited this time. Being there early I was able to use some of the earlier teams as target practice to get my camera settings tuned in.
Finishing the course more important than the time…
Everybody is there to have a great day, test themselves & to raise much needed funds for their chosen charities. The event was timed & very much more of a race for the real fit ones on the course. I could hardly believe the speed some of them flew over the obstacles & away to the next. Whereas some were there for the challenge of completing all the course. Yes you get a finishing time….but that didn’t seem so important. It was great to see the team work it takes to get themselves & other with them round. Even if they had never met until the moment they gripped a hand & dragged them up a shipping container.
Here are a collection of the images I captured on the event. Some are of the Rainbow Trust team, some are of other competitors that I came across along the way. So much fun I completely forgot about the cold & it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day chasing them round again, can’t wait for the next one….& no I’m still not running it with you!!!
Thank you for asking me back again.
Most of the Corporate Events I shoot tend to be of a Sports & Activities nature. I use my reportage style to capture the action & emotions throughout the day. My clients have wanted photos to document the day for their websites & as a momento for their guests. I love to hear about the reaction to my photos when the guests receive them… thats what this job is all about.
If you have an event coming up or are thinking of holding one, get in touch & lets see if I can help add the finishing touch to your day.
