Megan & William Wedding Day
An early start found me at William’s parents house. As much as everybody loves to see the pretty wedding dress & the bride having her make-up done. Where possible, I always think it’s really nice to try to capture a little of the fun with the Groom’s party. Non more so than today with the banter between Will & his groomsmen!! A quick blast across Guildford through rush hour to the Holiday Inn Hotel. Thankfully I arrived in time to take some lovely photos of Megan preparing for her big day
A lovely sunny day greeted everybody at St Joan of Arc church in Farnham to celebrate Megan and William’s Wedding Day. This was my first time to St Joan of Arc church & the Father couldn’t have been more helpful. He provided me with an order of service & free rein to go wherever I wanted. “I fully expect to turn round & see you standing next to me at the alter” he said with a big smile. I’m brave but not that brave…maybe next time !! It was great view from up high into the organist balcony.
The sun providing lovely light under the Cherry blossom & the Bluebells in the pretty church gardens for the group formal photos. Then it was off back to the Holiday Inn Hotel in Guildford for the reception party. An impromptu stop on the Hogs Back Road for a couple of photos as the view look so pretty!
I hope my photos helped to capture the all fun of the day & bring them happy memories in years to come. It was my absolute pleasure & privilege to be a part of their day.
Your wedding day is a special day to be treasured & remembered in years to come as a happy day for you both. Great memories of a celebration together & with your family & friends…..it’s my job to capture them for you.
For the Bride & Groom, it’s all too easy to get caught up worrying about photography timings & schedules….please don’t. Long before the big day, we will work out together what photo ideas you have & how they fit into your day not the other way round. Your wedding is about the two of you, enjoying your special day, relaxed, having fun & that’s how it should be. My photography is there to work around the edges of your day quietly capturing your moments as they happen naturally in front of me. I may help a little here & there if I can but in the main most of my best work goes un-noticed.
In years to come when all the cake has been eaten & all the flowers have gone brown, what you have left is your album & photos. If over a glass of wine or a coffee on a winter’s afternoon when it too wet to walk the dog, you get out your wedding photos. The memories all come back & they make you smile, laugh, maybe even a tear…. then I’ve done my job.
