The Cotswold Group Golf Day 2017 at The Manor House Golf Club
The Cotswold Group Golf Day. Golf Day Photography Manor House Golf Club.
Sometimes it’s a good thing not being fully booked up with work. When Andrew, organising their annual golf day rang on Monday to see if I was available to cover The Cotswold Group Golf Day that Thursday. His original photographer had had to drop out at short notice & he called to see if I could help out. I had a job booked in for that day but my client wasn’t date critical & was happy to help out. Love it when a little effort & politeness pays off allowing me help somebody out of a hole!
The previous week had been pretty wet weather but Thursday dawned bright & clear. I was soon on my way down the M4 to the Manor House Golf Club near Castle Combe race track. (note to self, must include this circuit in my Motorsport Photography next year) This was my first time at Manor House Golf Club & as I rounded the bend into the carpark I knew it was going to be a great day. The client’s golf buggies were all lined up outside the club house makes for an impressive sight.
The Pro shop kitted me out with my own buggy, a map & their tips for the best holes…. not to mention a couple of bottles of water & a chunky KitKat!!
After the ‘Welcome’ bacon rolls & a coffee the players made their way to the Practice Range. A pyramid of balls awaited each player as they loosened up ready for tee off times
Once the traditional Group & 1st Tee shots are safely in the bag it was off to BEN my personal golf buggy for the day. Normally I like to nip around & cut across the course where I can. This lets me jump ahead of the groups as they make their way around the course. This way I’m sure to get plenty shots of everybody. Unfortunately the wet weather had meant the buggies were restricted to the pathways only…tricky!! My old rallying days paid off & I found the odd gap in a tree line where I could.
Manor House Golf Club is one of the most picturesque course I have shot at so far. The mounds & hillocks were challenging for the players & signature holes proved a real test. Hopefully firmer ground next time will allow me to get some great shots to really show it off.
All the players seemed to enjoy their day even if it wasn’t after every shot!! A few well earned beers awaited the groups as they returned to the club house before Dinner was served.
Thank you to Dan & all his team for your hospitality on the day. Thank you to Andrew for asking me to be a part of it with you!!
A small selection of my favourite photos from the day are here to see. I hope you enjoy looking through your full collection Golf Day Photography in the Private Client Gallery. I look forward to seeing you all again sometime.
