Last year I did a conference photo shoot for a client for the first time. Thankfully I did a good job because they asked me back to shoot this year’s conference photography!
As with last year the brief was the same. To shoot a few hours natural style photography during the various speaker’s presentations. General shots of the delegates throughout the conference, plus a group shot of all in attendance.
Having been to the Hotel I knew the location where I planned to take the group shot later in the day. There are a lot people to fit in, so I need a little bit of space. The gardens out back would be perfect again!
I checked the small garden area just outside the meeting room they were using. There was still plenty of room, no building works & hedges were lush green to make a pleasant backdrop hiding the carpark behind… however my Weather App was predicting rain for the time scheduled for the photo!
Fingers crossed it would hold, I got the bag unpacked & got to work. I like to get some wide angle shots to show all the tables around the room. The long zoom lens also lets me quietly ‘people watch’ to capture moments through the day.
The management team were happy for me to move around the room. Always looking for an angle that makes for a different shot.
I hope I captured all the moments of your event for you. Thank you for your help & hospitality, hope to see you again next year…..
PS: In case you were wondering… yes it did rain!! A little bit of table shuffling in the dining room to get everybody in. Plus me clambering on top of a bit of furniture to get high enough, we got the job done!!
